Description:
Position involves the provision of nursing care to patients in a step-down unit.
Utilizes the nursing process to deliver patient care.
Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with other departments.
Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers.
Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
Works within the established guidelines of nursing practice.
Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups.
Includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
Must be a team player and promote a positive culture.
Stand and walk most of the time on duty.
Requires a significant amount of bending, stooping, and lifting.
High risk exposure to blood and body fluids.
Physical demands include pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs.
Requires compliance with the organization's mission, values, and service standards.
Responsibilities may include caring for patients post trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities.
Must meet unit-specific physical demands and work schedules per patient care requirements.
Participate in professional development and continue education as required.
Experience with post-operative CABG, valve surgeries, thoracotomies, respiratory failure, and chest pain is preferred.
