Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: MO License or Compact License required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH required Must-Have: - Experience with titration of vasopressors, sedation medication, insulin drips, trach vents, art lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes - Must have been at the bedside within the last six months Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our Step Down Unit. This position requires proficiency in managing high acuity patients transitioning from ICU. The patient-to-nurse ratio will be 1:4. The role includes the administration of various medications and monitoring of patients with complex needs. Candidates must be skilled in the management of arterial lines, chest tubes, and patient monitoring. This position does not require on-call duty, but weekend shifts are mandatory every other weekend. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including Respiratory Services and Social Services, is essential. Candidates should have experience in cardiac telemetry and the management of ventilated patients. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong critical thinking skills and effective communication. Compliance with healthcare regulations and maintaining high patient care standards are a priority. Travelers will float to lower acuity floors as needed.
