Job Title: PCU RN Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Strong team player, ability to read and interpret telemetry Description: This is a high-flow unit with frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges. We are looking for positive nurses who are willing to work with others as a team to overcome challenges. RNs are required to titrate drips, including heparin, octreotide, and insulin. Common patients are adults admitted through the emergency room with mixed medical/surgical needs, cardiac, and stroke-related issues. There is a charge nurse on each shift who may take an assignment, especially during night shifts. Patient care techs are available on the unit with a ratio of 1:14. Nurses should be comfortable with a variety of specialty equipment, including code carts and hoyer lifts. Shifts are scheduled for 6 weeks, with weekend and holiday rotations required. Additional float requirements may include med/surg and various areas in the facility, including ICU and ED. The dress code for this position is navy blue scrubs. All candidates must adhere to the policy prohibiting artificial nails in patient care areas. Initial RTO requests should be submitted upfront, as additional requests cannot be accommodated. The facility allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled during the assignment. Charting is conducted using the EPIC system. Applicants must possess the required certifications.
