Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN – Ohio

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week with every other or third weekend required. Floating within the hospital system is required as needed.

Highlights:

• Specialized progressive care unit focusing on burns, plastic/reconstructive surgery, urology, gynecology, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial surgeries
• Unique procedures include burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy
• Adult and geriatric patient population with diverse case mix
• 12-month assignment with comprehensive orientation and interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• First-time travelers accepted; candidates with one year of experience will be individually reviewed by the unit manager
• Local and travel candidates accepted at the same rate

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of progressive care or step-down nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, IV management, arterial line care, central line management, blood product administration, wound care, and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, PCAs, feeding tubes, and surgical drain management
• Two professional references required: at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor; second may be from a Charge RN
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
