Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week. Rotating weekdays and weekends. Rotating holidays. Float required within the facility system as needed.

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit specializing in neurological conditions including stroke, craniotomy, CVA, intracranial bleeds, and traumatic brain injury
• 4:1 patient ratio on nights with strong interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams
• Epic EMR system experience required
• 12-month assignment with first-time travelers welcome to apply
• Adult patient population with medical-surgical and neurological diagnosis mix
• Special procedures include TNK administration, lumbar drains, EEG, and post-TPA care

Requirements:

• Current Ohio RN license or valid Compact license
• Minimum 1 year of PCU/Stepdown/IMC nursing experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Neuro stepdown skills strongly preferred including blood product administration, heparin protocols, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, craniotomy care, pre/post neurosurgery, and isolation precautions
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
