Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Valid compact state nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: BLS and ACLS certifications Charge experience preferred Experience with charting systems, specifically Epic Ability to manage patient ratios of 1:4 Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse to provide care in a Progressive Care Unit. The nurse will be floating between units, as needed. Weekend shifts are required, specifically every other weekend. The expected patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4. Candidates must have experience with blood product administration and central line care and management. Candidates should be proficient in interpreting arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias. Skills in managing cardiac drips and IV insulin protocols are essential. Experience in managing high flow nasal cannula and continuous bladder irrigation is necessary. Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills are essential for this role. Knowledge of patient diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and sepsis is beneficial. The nurse will be part of a team that includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. This role requires a commitment to work three of the five major holidays each year. References covering recent nursing experience are mandatory prior to starting. Candidates should prepare to float to nearby facilities as needed. Discretion and professionalism are expected in all interactions.
