Description:
The position is for a registered nurse in a progressive care unit.
Patient ratio is 1:4.
Travelers must work a minimum of two holidays during the contract.
Every other weekend coverage is required.
Candidates may be asked to float within their scope of practice as needed.
The unit provides interdisciplinary support from various teams.
Common patient diagnoses in this unit include bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, plastic surgery, urology surgery, and surgical oncology.
Special procedures performed in the unit include continuous bladder irrigation, flap surgeries, microsurgery, HIPEC procedures, Whipple surgeries, and leech therapy.
Required skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, starting and maintaining IVs, telemetry, and conscious sedation.
Candidates must have experience with specific patient care equipment.

Modules related to the position will need to be completed during the orientation period.
