Description

Job Opportunity – Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse – New York

Start Date: October 6, 2026
Location: Rochester, New York
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 3x12 Night shifts, every other weekend required

Highlights:

  • 26-bed critical care step-down unit in a 528-bed tertiary care facility providing specialized intermediate care
  • Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for this step-down environment with continuous telemetry and pulse-oximetry monitoring
  • Diverse patient population including post-surgical, ICU step-down, and complex medical patients requiring airway management, BiPAP support, arterial lines, central lines, and titrated IV infusions
  • EPIC charting system utilized throughout facility
  • 24 hours of orientation with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy
  • 13-week travel assignment with limited float requirements to ICU or Medical-Surgical units

Requirements:

  • Active New York State RN license required in hand prior to submission (no pending licenses accepted)
  • Minimum 1-2 years of recent acute care nursing experience required; travel nursing experience preferred
  • EPIC charting system experience is mandatory
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and rapid response/code team protocols
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, peripheral and central line management, arterial line management, and respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula
  • Competency in managing cardiac and vasoactive drips with titration capabilities
  • Must reside at least 75 miles from facility location
  • Maximum of 10 days requested time off during assignment
