Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stroke/Neuro PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience preferred License: Active RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - EPIC charting experience required - Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills - IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration abilities - Experience with medication administration including cardiac drips - Neuro PCU experience Description: Position is for an RN in a Stroke/Neuro PCU. Shift hours are 3x12s from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Charting experience in EPIC is required. Weekend requirement may be every other week or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block. All requests for time off must be included with submission. Facility can call off 1 shift every 2 weeks. Holiday requirement is to work one holiday per 13-week contract. First-time travelers are accepted, but travel experience is preferred. Unit specializes in telemetry care and management of patients with neurological conditions. Patient-nurse ratios are typically 1:5, with a staffing goal of 1:4. IV drips managed include Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, and others. The unit has remote telemetry with tele sitting implemented. Floating may be required within skill set. Clinical skills required include isolation precautions and telemetry settings. Support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy among others. Daily census consists of approximately 25 patients. Candidates must comply with all applicable vaccination requirements.
