Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Tennessee**Start Date:** September 14, 2026 **Location:** Tennessee **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Three 12-hour shifts per week with every other weekend requirement; self-scheduling model with 4-week schedule blocks**Highlights:** - Progressive care unit with 34 and 25 bed units; nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 on days and 1:5 to 1:6 on nights- Manage complex patient populations including bipaps, high flow oxygen, vapotherm, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, and peritoneal dialysis- Work with advanced equipment including Alaris pumps, wound vacs in collaboration with wound care specialists, and multiple oxygen delivery systems- Procedures performed on unit include peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, dobhoff/NG tube insertions, and central line dressing changes- Documentation system: Meditech- Strong team support with dedicated unit technicians (3 techs on larger unit, 2 techs on smaller unit when at full capacity)**Requirements:** - Active RN license - BLS and ACLS certifications required- Strong critical thinking skills with EKG rhythm interpretation experience- Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips required- Proficiency with stroke care and post cardiac catheterization care- Experience with bipaps, high flow oxygen, and multiple oxygen delivery systems- Skills in peripheral IV placement, tube feedings, and NG/dobhoff tubes- Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred- Ability to float between PCU units or to medical-surgical floors as needed**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This progressive care unit offers a "care like family" culture with exceptional teamwork and collaborative environment.
