Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Tennessee**Start Date:** September 21, 2026 **Location:** Tennessee **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Three 12-hour shifts per week; every other weekend requirement; self-scheduling with 4-week schedules**Highlights:** - Progressive Care Unit with 34 and 25-bed units featuring advanced patient care technology including BiPAPs, high-flow oxygen, Vapotherm, cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips- Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 on day shifts and 1:5 to 1:6 on night shifts with dedicated tech support (2-3 techs per unit when at full capacity)- Meditech documentation system with specialized procedures including peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, and central line dressing changes- Experience with stroke care, post-cardiac catheterization patients, and advanced oxygen delivery systems- Float opportunities between PCU units or to medical-surgical floors as needed- 13-week contract assignment with high extension rates among travelers**Requirements:** - Active RN license- BLS and ACLS certifications required- Strong critical thinking skills and EKG rhythm interpretation- Demonstrated experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips- Peripheral IV skills required- Experience with BiPAPs, high-flow oxygen systems, tube feedings, and NG/dobhoff tubes- Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred- Stroke and post-cardiac catheterization care experience preferred**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** Join a close-knit PCU team known for its "care like family" culture and exceptional teamwork.
