Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit RN – Western North Carolina

Start Date: July 13, 2026

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Every other weekend required. Progressive Care Unit with patient ratios of 4:1 at standard grid, 5:1 when stretched. Day and night shifts available. Opportunity to work in a 44-bed progressive care unit with a collaborative team of 95 staff members.

Highlights:
  • Specialized neuro and trauma care in a high-acuity progressive care environment
  • Work with advanced equipment including IV pumps, PCA pumps, chest tubes, trachs, and patient lifts
  • Cerner EMR system for streamlined documentation and patient care
  • Comprehensive skill development including chest tube management, blood transfusions, lumbar drains, and feeding tube placement
  • Float opportunities to stepdown and med-surg units for varied clinical experience
  • Structured unit grid with designated charge nurses, CNAs, and unit coordinators for optimal support
Requirements:
  • Active RN license in North Carolina or eligibility to obtain
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications (required)
  • Demonstrated neuro and trauma care experience (required)
  • Experience with C-collar placement, TLSO braces, and neurological/spinal assessments preferred
  • Strong clinical skills in critical procedures including blood transfusions, PCA pump management, and chest tube care
