# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: August 17, 2026

Location: North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Every other weekend required; standard PCU ratios of 4:1 at grid, 5:1 stretched

Highlights:
  • 44-bed Progressive Care Unit specializing in neuro and trauma patient populations
  • Comprehensive patient care including chest tubes, PCA pumps, IV infusions, lumbar drains, feeding tube placement, and blood transfusions
  • Electronic Medical Records system: Cerner
  • Team-oriented environment with dedicated charge nurses, registered nurses, CNAs, and unit coordinators per shift
  • Equipment includes IV pumps, Skylift systems, PCA pumps, chest tubes, patient lifts, and tracheostomy care resources
  • Float opportunities to stepdown and med-surg units for skill diversification
Requirements:
  • Active RN license in North Carolina
  • ACLS certification (required)
  • BLS certification (required)
  • NIHSS certification (required)
  • Progressive care experience with focus on neuro and trauma populations
  • Proficiency in performing neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, TLSO bracing, and related procedures
