Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; NIH preferred Must-Have: - Cardiac Progressive Care Unit experience - Comfort with 1:5 patient ratios - Previous Charge RN experience preferred - EKG exam compliance required Description: The Registered Nurse will provide care for cardiac patients with conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure, Acute Coronary Syndrome, and arrhythmias. The nurse will manage pre and post cardiac catheterization patients, rule out myocardial infarction, and handle arrhythmias and syncope. The role includes managing cardiac drips without titration, vasoactive drips without titration, and procedural sedation administration. Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias are essential responsibilities. The Registered Nurse is also responsible for managing peripheral lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, and tracheostomy care. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5, with the potential for 1:4 ratios with drips or BiPAP. The department operates 24/7 with remote monitoring of rooms by a dedicated team. Nurse Assistants are available 24/7, and there is a dedicated RN secretary during daytime hours. Support services and interdisciplinary teams are available to facilitate comprehensive patient care. This position includes rotating weekend and holiday shifts as needed.
