ACLS BLS NIHSS Neuro and Trauma Care experience Description: The position involves working in a Progressive Care Unit. The unit has 44 beds and consists of 95 staff members. The staff includes 2 CNC/Charge nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC on both day and night shifts. Patient ratios are 4:1 at grid and 5:1 when stretched. Typical equipment includes IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pumps, chest tubes, trachs, and patient lifts. The EMR system used is Cerner. Typical procedures performed in the unit include neuro and spinal checks, C-Collar placement, TLSO braces, chest tube management, PCA pump and IV infusions, lumbar drain placement, feeding tube placement, and blood transfusion. The best personality fit for this role is a team player who is patient-focused. Floating may occur to stepdown units and med-surg units. The dress code consists of navy blue scrubs. Every other weekend is required.
