```htmlJob Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Med-Surg/Telemetry/PCU – North Carolina
Start Date: October 12, 2026
Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45-07:15), 36 hours per week, every other weekend required. Contract length 13-26 weeks available.
Highlights:
- Mixed acuity unit with PCU and Med-Surg/Telemetry patients; nurse-to-patient ratios typically 1:4-5 (may extend to 1:6 in extreme situations)
- Higher acuity patient population including COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, COVID-19, and ventilator-dependent patients
- Comprehensive unit support: Admission/Discharge nurse, Assistant Nurse Manager on all shifts, Respiratory Therapists, Vascular Access Team, and dedicated RRT/Code Teams
- Experience with advanced equipment required: chest tubes, ventilators (chronic trach/vent patients), BiPAP/CPAP, cardiac and vasoactive drips (Dopamine, Cardizem, Heparin)
- EPIC charting system with Pyxis medication management
- 24-hour unit orientation; float requirement to similar units within facility
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
- Strong clinical skills: IV starts, telemetry interpretation/management of dysrhythmias, ventilator experience, BiPAP/CPAP management
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, high-acuity environment with strict attendance expectations
