# Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry / Progressive Care Nurse – North CarolinaStart Date: October 12, 2026
Location: North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 18:45-07:15, 36 hours per week, every other weekend requiredHighlights:- Mixed acuity unit combining Progressive Care and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry patients with nurse ratios of 1:4-5 (occasionally 1:6 in extreme situations)- 48-bed unit specializing in respiratory conditions including COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, and patients requiring chest tubes, CPAP, and BiPAP- Comprehensive support team including Admission/Discharge nurse, Assistant Nurse Manager, Vascular Access Team, Respiratory Therapists, Rapid Response Team, and Behavioral Health Team- Epic EMR system with 24 hours of unit orientation provided- Contract length: 13-26 weeks available with pre-approved time off options- Experience with ventilators (chronic trach/vent patients), telemetry monitoring, cardiac and vasoactive drips (Dopamine, Cardizem, Heparin)Requirements:- Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience required- Previous travel nursing experience required- ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred- Strong skills in IV start, ventilator management, telemetry, CPAP/BiPAP, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias- Experience with chest tubes, tracheostomy care, central line management, and cardiac drips- Ability to float to similar units as needed- Commitment to strict attendance policy (no requests for additional time off after contract signing)- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)Why It's a Great Opportunity:This position offers the chance to work in a high-acuity environment with excellent support resources, allowing you to enhance your critical care skills while managing a diverse respiratory patient population.
