Position Details

• Specialty: Postpartum RN
• Assignment Length: 13 or 26 weeks – Traveler’s Choice
• Schedule: 3×12s or 4×12s – Traveler’s Choice
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of Postpartum RN experience
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted
• EMR:EPIC – Required / Hard Stop
• License: Active Compact RN License accepted
• Certifications: BLS, NRP

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of high-acuity Postpartum experience
• Must be comfortable managing high census and patient surges
• Must be able to manage a 4th couplet when needed
• High-Risk Obstetric experience required
• EPIC experience required
• Magnesium experience required
• Must have experience with:
  • Pitocin
  • Foley catheter care
  • Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH)
  • Substance withdrawal
• JADA experience preferred

Patient Assignment

• 4 couplets is standard
• Candidate must be comfortable caring for high-risk OB patients in a high-volume, high-census environment.
• Must be able to safely manage an increased census during surges, including a potential 4th couplet.

Floating Requirements

Floating is required:

• Issaquah Campus – Postpartum
• Edmonds Campus – Postpartum
• Labor & Delivery – 2nd hour of recovery

Weekend Requirement

• 6 weekend days per contract

Facility / Unit Overview

This is a large-volume, high-census facility caring for a diverse patient population, including high-risk obstetric patients.

The Postpartum unit provides care following delivery and supports patients recovering after pregnancy and childbirth.

Important Eligibility Rule

• Perm candidates from any other Providence facility (non-Swedish) may be eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated from the facility for at least 3 months.
• Swedish facilities honor active Compact RN licenses.

Hard Stops

Candidates should be screened out if they have:

• Less than 2 years of required experience
• No EPIC experience
• No high-risk OB experience
• No Magnesium experience

First-time travelers are welcome if they meet the required 2+ years of high-acuity Postpartum experience.
