Job Requirements

  • Active RN license in hand at submission; compact license accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of recent postpartum, Mother/Baby, or high-acuity couplet care experience
  • Epic charting experience required
  • BLS and NRP required
  • Experience with high-risk obstetric care strongly preferred
  • Strong skills in magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin, Foley management, postpartum hemorrhage response, and substance withdrawal care
  • Ability to manage up to 4 couplets in a high-census Mother/Baby unit
  • JADA experience preferred
  • Willingness to support holiday coverage and float as assigned

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate postpartum nursing care to mothers and newborns
  • Monitor couplets closely and respond quickly to changes in condition
  • Support patients recovering from vaginal delivery or cesarean delivery
  • Administer and monitor medications and therapies including magnesium sulfate and Pitocin
  • Perform assessments focused on fundus, lochia, perineum, incision care, and newborn wellbeing
  • Recognize and respond to postpartum hemorrhage and other high-risk obstetric complications
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and collaborate with the care team to promote positive outcomes
