Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical and procedural interventions in a PACU setting
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:2, with the ability to accommodate up to 1:4 during overflow situations for patients awaiting room assignments
- Participate in an on-call rotation every third weekend (typically volunteer-based), covering 7a–7p or 7p–7a shifts, including holidays as part of the call schedule
- Be prepared to serve on an Emergency Team if assigned by unit management during declared emergency events, remaining at the facility until the event passes or relief is arranged
- Adhere to facility dress code requirements (royal blue scrubs) and complete all required orientation modules onsite
Required Qualifications
- Active Compact or Louisiana RN license — must be in hand at time of submittal
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA-issued)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU specialty
- First-time travelers will not be accepted for this position
- Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (as measured from the address on your driver's license to the facility address) to be eligible
- NURSYS report must be submitted with profile and must be current (within 4 weeks of submission date)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in a PACU or surgical recovery environment
- Familiarity with managing overflow patient populations and fluctuating census demands
- Experience working in high-acuity or fast-paced post-operative care settings
