Please ensure you are aware of the following:
Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, your unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team."
There will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the event passes or be part of the relief team.
Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed on each emergency event, as impacts vary.
You will report as assigned by your immediate unit manager if an emergency event occurs.
You should not apply for this role if you are not comfortable with the above conditions.
Call is required every third weekend, usually scheduled on a volunteer basis.
Holiday coverage is part of the call schedule.
The unit operates with a patient ratio of 1:2.
The unit will not accept first-time travelers.
Scrub color is royal blue.
The patient ratio can go up to 1:4 to accommodate overflow patients awaiting room assignments.
Previous charge experience is preferred.
Experience with charting systems is preferred.
Community hospital experience is preferred.
LTAC and Trauma Level I experience are preferred.
Travel experience is required.
Skills required include end-tidal CO2 monitoring, arterial line management, central line care and management, and many others.
Patient age groups include adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.
There are no pre-approved time off requests.
References are not required for submission but will be required to obtain clearance to start.
Charge RNs are not acceptable.
NURSYS reports must be submitted with the profile.
Ensure that NURSYS is up to date within four weeks of the submission date.
Resources who have worked as permanent staff must be separated for one year before returning.
Modules will be completed during orientation and are factored into the orientation hours.
Modules are billable.
