Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 8 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Valid State License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Charge experience preferred - Epic charting system experience preferred Description: The role involves providing care to patients in the post anesthesia recovery phase. This includes managing pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. Patients include those undergoing same-day surgeries and in-patients. Common procedures involve vascular, orthopedic, gynecological, and spinal surgeries. Additional types of surgeries include trauma, bariatric, and interventional radiology. Nursing duties include assessment, monitoring, and pain management. The nurse will also perform pre-operative assessments and post-operative care. Documentation will be conducted using a specified electronic health record system. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is essential for optimal patient outcomes. The environment requires flexibility to float between similar facilities. Weekend shifts may be required based on scheduling needs. Providers are expected to commit to working holidays as needed.
