Description:
This position requires expertise in the PACU setting.
The shift hours are 3x12s, with specific time frames.
The RN will be responsible for charting using the EPIC system.
Weekend requirements may include every other weekend or six weekend shifts in a six-week block.
There is a call rotation with staff, assigned based on a sign-up sheet.
All requests for time off must be included in the submission.
The facility is allowed to call off one shift per two weeks.
The RN must work one holiday during each 13-week contract.
First-time travelers are not accepted, and local candidates are not eligible.
Pending licenses will be accepted only if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state.
The patient population includes adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.
Surgical specialties include ICU, trauma surgery, pediatrics, bariatric surgery, breast surgery, colorectal surgery, dental surgery, general surgery, ENT, gastrointestinal, gynecology, oncology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, podiatry, pulmonology, and urology.
Floating within skillset may be required.
The expected ratios are 1 nurse to 2 patients.
The daily census is approximately 80-110 patients, with 24 beds available in the unit.
Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
Candidates must demonstrate skills in airway management, medication administration, procedural consent, and patient assessment and management.
Monitoring and assessment of lab values and pain management will also be part of the responsibilities.
All candidates must possess necessary certifications to perform in the PACU environment.
Compliance with all facility policies and procedures is expected.
Travelers are required to adhere to holiday work requirements and compliance documentation timelines.
