Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse for a 16-week travel assignment in Sandy Springs, Georgia. This role is situated on the Ground Floor PACU of a dynamic facility that operates 24/7, providing critical care to patients recovering from a wide range of surgical procedures.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse patient population, including those undergoing Thoracic, Orthopedic, Neurology, Vascular, Urology, and General surgery cases. This unit specializes in higher acuity patients, requiring a strong clinical background and the ability to provide comprehensive post-operative care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from various surgical procedures.
- Monitor, assess, and intervene for patients with higher acuity needs in the immediate post-operative phase.
- Manage patients undergoing Thoracic, Orthopedic, Neurology, Vascular, Urology, and General surgery cases.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting.

Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in post-anesthesia patient assessment and management.
- Experience with high acuity patient care.
- Competency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, specifically Cerner.

- Holiday Expectations: Must work two (2) major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and one (1) minor holiday (The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve).
Licensing Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
