Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring 1 year of recent PICU experience and PALS certification.

Details

  • Work in a 9-bed Pediatric ICU within a Level II trauma center and Level III NICU referral hospital
  • Patient ratios of 1 RN to 1-2 patients in PICU and 1 RN to 2-3 patients in stepdown
  • Uses Alaris pumps for infusion management
  • Documentation performed in Cerner
  • Shift runs 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
  • Must work 3 weekends within a 6-week schedule
  • Floating required to Peds and NICU units
  • Unit offers self-scheduling
  • Performs procedures including IV starts, central line dressing changes, hemodynamic monitoring, trach care, tube feeding and placement, ICP monitoring, and ventilator management

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC or Compact)
  • Current PALS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with 1 year of recent PICU experience
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
  • One professional reference required
  • No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Dress code requires all navy, all white, or navy pants with white tops
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
  • Unit is supported by a HUC working 9-9 and a tech shared with PICU
  • Hospital is Magnet-designated and recognized among the top hospitals nationally for clinical quality and patient safety
