Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring 1 year of recent PICU experience and current PALS certification.

Details

  • Work in a 9-bed Pediatric ICU within a hospital setting
  • Patient ratios of 1 RN to 1-2 patients in PICU and 1 RN to 2-3 patients in Stepdown
  • Shift runs 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
  • Must work 3 weekends within a 6-week schedule
  • Float to Peds and NICU units as needed
  • Documentation completed in Cerner
  • Uses Alaris pumps for infusion management
  • Self-scheduling available
  • Unit staffed with a HUC 9AM-9PM and a tech shared with PICU

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC or Compact)
  • Current PALS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent PICU experience required
  • Experience with procedures including IV starts, central line dressing changes, hemodynamic monitoring, trach care, tube feeding and placement, ICP monitoring, and ventilator management
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
  • One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill pediatric patients including IV starts, catheter placement, LP support, central line care, hemodynamic and ICP monitoring, trach care, tube feeding, and ventilator management
  • Dress code requires all navy, all white, or navy pants with white tops scrubs
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
