CVPICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced CVPICU Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. This role involves providing specialized care for pediatric patients with cardiac conditions, including those undergoing complex surgical procedures.

Shift Information

  • Schedule: 3 twelve-hour shifts
  • Hours: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 based on patient acuity
  • Weekend Requirements: 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week schedule
  • Holiday Rotation: Required

Unit Information

The Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit is a 29-bed, award-winning unit serving as a referral center for major pediatric cardiac surgery in the region. The unit supports a diverse range of cardiac diagnoses and treats patients of all ages with congenital heart disease. Common therapeutic procedures include:

  • Cardiac surgery
  • Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs)
  • Heart Transplant
  • Cardiac catheterization
  • Complex medical support therapies

Additional resources include ancillary support services such as Respiratory Therapy, Pediatric Dietitians, and Pharmacists.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience required.
  • Experience in cardiovascular and pediatric nursing is essential.
  • VAD experience is highly preferred.
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
  • Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required.
  • Certifications: PALS and BLS (American Heart Association only). ACLS is preferred.

Additional Information

  • Block scheduling may be accommodated at the manager’s discretion.
  • Location radius for travelers is 60 miles.
  • Local candidates are accepted, with a lower rate for locals.
  • All requests for time off must be submitted at the time of application.
  • Guaranteed hours: Traveler may be canceled for one shift every two weeks.
  • This unit does not accept travel pairs.
