Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day/Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Pediatric Medical-Surgical experience required. License: RN license required. Certifications: BLS and PALS required. Must-Have: Epic experience required. Telemetry exam pass required prior to start. Description: Day and night shifts are available. Shifts are 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Monday through Friday with every other weekend required. Patients include those with a mix of acuity from general medical to stepdown. Experience with pulmonary lines and respiratory failure is essential. Candidates should be familiar with tracheostomy and ventilator dependence. Non-invasive ventilatory support such as CPAP and BIPAP is part of care. Pediatric populations seen include neuro, diabetic, nephrology, and spinal fusion patients. The role includes administration of medications, management of chest tubes, and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Other skills include care of central lines, phlebotomy, and wound assessment. Candidates will participate in rapid response teams when necessary. Float requirements apply as needed across the unit.
