Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Nursing Job – Night Shift in Lubbock, TX

Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,740–$1,840
- Assignment Length: 16 weeks

- End Date: April 5, 2027
- Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
- Shift Hours: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Healthcare Setting: Children’s hospital and Level II pediatric trauma environment
- Patient Population: Infants, children, and adolescents
- Weekend Requirement: Weekend rotation, including approximately five shifts within a six-week period
- Floating: Float within the nurse’s scope of practice, including nearby units or sister facilities as needed
Pediatric RN Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of registered nursing experience required
- Recent pediatric nursing experience preferred
- Current Registered Nurse license valid for practice in Texas; compact license must be active and in hand when applicable
- Current BLS certification
- Current PALS certification
- Epic charting experience required
- Demonstrated ability to care for pediatric patients in a medical-surgical setting
- Two professional references covering at least 1 year of employment within the past 3 years
- Willingness to participate in weekend and holiday scheduling as assigned
Pediatric Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents
- Assess patients, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate outcomes
- Manage pediatric medical-surgical patients while maintaining appropriate patient ratios
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with pediatric safety standards
- Provide central line and implanted line care, oxygen therapy, and BiPAP/CPAP management as appropriate
- Support bottle, breastfeeding, and gavage feedings, including breast milk handling
- Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias, changes in patient condition, and clinical emergencies
- Apply isolation precautions and appropriate personal protective equipment
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rehabilitation, social services, and other members of the care team
- Float between appropriate pediatric units and provide flexible support based on patient census and staffing needs
