Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Medicine Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Up to 1 year of Level 1 trauma experience License: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License. Certifications: Current Basic Life Support and PALS issued by the American Heart Association. Must-Have: Level 1 trauma experience; experience with a wide range of patient ages from newborn to 18 years, including respiratory and GI care; experience with tracheostomy and home ventilators. Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders on assigned patients. Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients and observes physiological manifestations, intervening when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers competent patient care. Interacts with families and patients to share the care plan during hospitalization and discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
