Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
• Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
• Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality
• Float as needed to NICU, PICU, Pediatric medical floor, or Peds ED based on patient volumes
• Function within the scope of nursing practice consistent with established guidelines, including applicable state Nurse Practice Act standards

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license; must meet criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold Missouri licensure
• BLS and PALS certifications from AHA only required
• TNCC certification required
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience; must be ventilator competent
• At least 1 year of post-orientation experience required
• Flu vaccination or facility-approved exemption required November 1 – April 1; declinations are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with diverse patient populations including Trauma, Burn, Neurosurgery, Pediatric Surgery, Respiratory, Sepsis, Endocrinology, Hematology/Oncology, and Orthopedics
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Demonstrated flexibility and ability to function as a collaborative team player in a high-acuity environment
