Key Responsibilities of the RN - PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care

• Manage ICU level care for patients including respiratory, neuro, GI, GU, plastics, burns, and more
• Operate and monitor equipment such as vents, drips, chest tubes, and central lines
• Perform procedures such as central line and chest tube placements, sedation, lumbar punctures, and intubation
• Maintain patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1 for higher acuity and 3:1 for step-down acuity

Requirements of the RN - PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care

• Intubated/vents experience
• ICU level of care experience
• PALS certification
