Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: RN (Compact Accepted) Certifications: PALS, BLS, CERT-Crisis Prevention Intervention Must-Have: - Pediatric ER experience - CPI Blue Card - Triage experience - TNCC, ACLS Description: The Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Emergency Department provides care for patients in urgent need. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of Pediatric Emergency Room experience. This position requires skills in moderate sedation and various medical procedures. Common diagnoses treated include asthma, DKA, neonate fever, and sickle cell disease. The nurse will be responsible for administering blood products, interpreting 12 lead EKGs, and providing critical care as needed. The nurse to patient ratio will be 1:4. Equipment used includes drains, triple lumen catheters, PICC lines, and PCA pumps. Candidates should be proficient in critical care management ranging from trauma to medical cases. Flexibility with weekend shifts and rotating holidays is expected. Essential duties include providing respiratory treatments, managing vents, and performing rapid transfusions. This position is essential in delivering quality care in a high-pressure environment.
