Description:
Registered Nurse in Pediatric Emergency Room.
Responsible for providing care to pediatric patients in an emergency setting.
Expected to assess and triage patients effectively.
Common diagnoses include asthma, DKA, and sickle cell disease.
Involves performing moderate sedation and breathing treatments.
Experience with chest tube setup/care, CPAP/BiPap, and high-frequency vents is required.
Will provide care for patients requiring blood/blood products administration.
Must be proficient in cardioversion/defibrillation and 12 lead EKG interpretation.
Familiarity with critical care situations such as burns and trauma is essential.
Involvement with the administration of care for various medical-surgical conditions is expected.
Ability to manage drains, central lines, and PCA pumps is necessary.
Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4.
