Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse opportunity located in the specified area. This role involves caring for patients in a specialized unit that requires proficiency in medical surgical, neurology, neurotrauma, and orthopedic care. The position is primarily scheduled for night shifts, with orientation confirmed to start on 09/28/2026.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Iowa or multi-state nursing license, 24 months of current Medical Surgical, IMCU, Stepdown, or Progressive Care experience in a hospital or medical center setting, neurology/neurosurgery experience, orthopedic care experience, trauma care experience (highly preferred), familiarity with the EPIC electronic medical record, experience with telemetry, left equipment, chest tubes, airvo, EKG/strip reading; de-escalation certification preferred (CPI, MOAB, MAB, SAMA).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Trauma level I experience, NIHSS certification, proficiency in specialty equipment and telemetry.
  • Additional Information: Employees will be required to float across all campuses. Orientation is scheduled to occur on 09/28/2026. Candidates must have completed at least one previous travel assignment within the past 12 months. Candidates with a history of working travel at the organization are not eligible unless their past assignment was not within the last 12 months. The unit involves caring for patients with heavy neuro trauma, neurosurgery, craniectomy, and orthopedics, with RN ratios of 1:5-6. Certification in BLS, ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS (preferred) is required.
