Registered Nurse (RN) - Stepdown Unit

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Stepdown Unit, providing exceptional care to patients with cardiovascular surgical needs. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with the potential to float to additional units. The role requires flexibility and willingness to adapt to operational needs.

Shifts

  • 3x12 hour shifts (Day/Night rotating): 7pm - 7:30am / 7am - 7:30pm
  • Shifts may vary based on hospital operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Stepdown Unit.
  • Monitor patient conditions and administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care plans.
  • Document nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with hospital policies.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Participate in patient and family education to enhance recovery and health maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 months of permanent nursing experience in the specialty applied for.
  • Progressive care experience is preferred but not required.
  • Active and unrestricted Ohio nursing license or compact state license required.
  • Current certification in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS from AHA or American Red Cross.
  • Must be willing to work every other holiday.

Additional Information

During orientation, candidates will complete an ECG rhythm recognition test and a safeMedicate assessment, achieving acceptable scores on both is mandatory.
