Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will have the flexibility to float to various units, including J1-2, J33, and the Emergency Department, to provide care for a similar patient population.

Shift and Schedule

This position involves rotating shifts, including nights and days, with times from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM and 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM. While we will strive to accommodate preferred shifts, we reserve the right to adjust schedules to meet operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the medical-surgical telemetry unit.
• Monitor patient vitals and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Utilize telemetry monitoring equipment to assess cardiac rhythms.
• Educate patients and their families about medications, procedures, and discharge instructions.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 12 months of permanent experience in a medical-surgical telemetry specialty.
• Possession of a permanent Ohio nursing license or a compact state nursing license.
• Current AHA or American Red Cross certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• All travelers must be willing to work at least every other holiday.

Orientation and Training

During orientation, candidates will complete an ECG rhythm recognition test and a SafeMedicate assessment, both of which require an acceptable score to proceed.
