Noor Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Weirton, West Virginia.
Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $2474.68
Opportunity:
RN - Stepdown/PCU
Job Details:
• 12-hour day and night shifts with shift times from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend requirement with potential holiday rotation
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6 depending on acuity
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of Stepdown/PCU experience
• Must be comfortable with cardiac monitoring and cardiac drips
• Required to titrate drips including cardizem, amio, nitro, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, and angiomax
• Common patient diagnoses include cardiac patients, post-pneumonia, post-cath lab, seizures, ETOH/CIWA protocols, and pacemakers
• Must be able to read, interpret, and print telemetry strips, perform measurements, and identify rhythms
• Expected to troubleshoot respiratory equipment including BiPAP, airvo, and trachs appropriately
• Charge nurse available on each shift; day shift charge does not take a patient assignment unless necessary
• Monitor technician available 24/7
• Respiratory therapy assigned to unit 24/7
• Nurse aides and patient care techs available on unit for ADLs, vitals, bathing, toileting, feeding, repositioning, answering call lights, and blood sugars
• Travelers may float to any inpatient unit and are first to float
• Scrub color requirement: Navy Blue
• Orientation includes 2 days of general orientation and 1 day with a preceptor
• Charting system: Cerner
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• BSN not required
• Must provide a copy of unexpired driver's license at time of submission
• Any licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission

This acute care facility operates a 30-bed Stepdown/PCU unit providing specialized care for cardiac patients, post-procedural patients, and those requiring close monitoring. The facility offers comprehensive 24/7 support services including respiratory therapy, telemetry monitoring, and nocturnist coverage for the entire hospital at night. The unit is equipped with modern cardiac monitoring technology and maintains a structured scheduling system that allows staff input into their ideal schedules.
