PCU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Virginia
- At least 1 year of recent progressive care, step-down, telemetry, or comparable acute-care nursing experience
- Ability to provide safe, effective patient care during 12-hour night shifts
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and clinical documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with nurses, providers, and other members of the healthcare team
- Current life-support certification(s) required by the facility and applicable to the assignment
PCU Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a progressive care and medicine-unit setting
- Perform ongoing patient assessments, monitor for changes in condition, and communicate concerns promptly
- Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with provider orders and established protocols
- Complete focused and comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Coordinate patient care with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and discharge needs
- Promote patient safety, comfort, and continuity of care throughout the travel nursing assignment
