Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse position located in Rock Island, Illinois. This role involves providing specialized patient care within a high-acuity unit, supporting a patient ratio of 1:7. The nurse will contribute to the interdisciplinary team, utilizing clinical expertise to manage patient needs, including advanced procedures and medication titrations.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Two years of previous experience, at least one completed travel contract preferred. Valid Illinois state license required. Must have a drivers license, work history/resume, skills checklist completed within the last year, license verification, and a supervisory reference at the time of submission.
- Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA).
- Additional Requirements: Must have a taxable address outside of 50 miles from the facility, unless in Madison where a local candidate with a 10% rate reduction is accepted. Experience with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, central lines, drains, and CBI is required. Proficiency with medications such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, and Milrinone with some titration is necessary.
- Orientation: Scheduled for 2026 starting 01/12, 01/26, 02/09, and subsequent bi-weekly dates.
- Additional Information: The unit maintains a patient ratio of 1:7. The high volume of open travel needs aims to stabilize staffing levels. The role may include float within the same discipline across local campuses.
- Special Considerations: The position includes working 1-2 of the 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day). On-call duties are not required.
