Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse in Hampton Roads. The position requires supervision of ancillary nursing staff and active participation in patient discharge planning and education.
Job Details
- Position Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is implemented effectively. Responsibilities include performing nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission, documenting all assessments and interventions accurately, participating in patient rehabilitation programs, and initiating discharge planning from day one. Utilizes the nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, with a focus on patient/family education and safety.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience, preferably in a PCU or critical care setting; valid nursing license; flexible to work the scheduled shifts of 12 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a progressive care or step-down unit.
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: The RN will perform duties that promote patient and employee safety, participate in team building activities, and follow all hospital policies on personal appearance, attendance, and punctuality. The role includes responsibilities related to patient safety, proper documentation, and collaboration with team members.
