Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nursing Professional in Bangor, Maine. This position involves providing specialized care to cardiac and medical patients, including post-operation and trauma cases, in a Level II Trauma Center. The role requires clinical expertise in neuro checks, ventilator support, wound care, and advanced cardiac monitoring, with the opportunity to work in a busy hospital setting across multiple departments.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts with 12 hours shift hours, a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications; experience with trached patients on vents, neuro checks, high-flow oxygen, trauma patient care, chest tubes, wound Vacs/VAC dressings, BIPAP, vasoactive or antiarrhythmic drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, temporary pacemakers, TR bands, post femoral sheath care, insulin drips, general drain/ostomy care, and IV starts; 1 year of PCU or intermediate level of care experience
  • Additional Information:
    • Familiarity with support systems like Cerner, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, GE monitors
    • Float to Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, or Cardiac Care Unit as needed
    • Orientation includes general hospital introduction followed by 1 day on the unit
    • Weekend rotation every other weekend, with up to 7 days off approval; holiday requests require manager approval
    • Scrub colors are flexible but must appear professional
    • Free parking in designated areas
    • The start date for this assignment is 10/20/2026, ending 01/16/2027
