Job Requirements

  • Active Ohio RN license in hand at time of submission
  • Minimum of 2 years of total acute care nursing experience
  • At least 1 year of recent PCU experience required
  • Recent acute care experience within the last 12 months
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Experience with Epic preferred
  • ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing education required
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a collaborative care team
  • Ability to float within scope of practice as needed
  • Professional references required, including at least one supervisor, manager, or director

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality care to progressive care and med-surg level patients in a busy surgical oncology setting
  • Monitor and assess patients with complex post-surgical and oncology-related needs
  • Administer and manage treatments such as chemotherapy, IV antibiotics, blood transfusions, insulin drips, and heparin drips
  • Support telemetry monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias
  • Care for patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, and chest tube management
  • Respond to oncologic emergencies and support infection prevention initiatives
  • Promote patient safety through fall prevention and close clinical observation
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
  • Float to other acute care oncology units when needed and within scope of practice
