Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse position in an acute care setting. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to adult patients with complex health conditions, requiring a high level of clinical expertise and the ability to adapt quickly to varying patient needs. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with diverse patient populations, ensuring quality care and patient safety.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week from 10/19/2026 to 01/18/2027
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license in the state of practice, 2 years of clinical experience in a Progressive Care Unit or similar setting, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior charge nurse and teaching hospital experience; experience with Cardiac Telemetry and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
  • Skills: Telemetry monitoring (unit and remote), management of dysrhythmias, post-cardiac procedures, IV therapy including PICC line, blood product administration, use of rapid response teams, chest tube management, oxygen therapy, wound care, isolation precautions, and other advanced cardiac and neuro interventions.
  • Floating: Regular floating between units and departments as needed, within scope of practice.
  • Additional Information: Weekend shifts required with a total of 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule, including a combination of Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The clinician must be at least 75 miles from the facility and must hold both Kansas and Missouri or a compact license at the time of submission. Prioritize completing required certifications and EMR training modules before start date.
