Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a tertiary care hospital with a focus on pulmonary stepdown, intermediate care, and ventilated patients. The role involves providing specialized nursing care in a fast-paced environment, managing ventilated trach patients, high acuity respiratory cases, and monitoring complex cardiac and neuro conditions. The position requires adaptability to floating between departments and adherence to strict clinical protocols.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 10/19/2026 and ending 01/18/2027.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, at least two (2) years of recent experience in a progressive care or similar unit, strong ventilator expertise, emergency response skills, and proficiency with Epic charting system. Certifications required include BLS and NIHSS.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working in a trauma level I or II setting, community hospital experience, and prior telemetry or cardiac care exposure.
  • Float: Regular floating within scope to meet facility needs may be required between departments, units, and facilities.
  • Additional Information: The role involves managing ventilated patients, pulmonary procedures such as endobronchial valves, ventilators, chest tubes, and high acuity respiratory care. Candidates must demonstrate competency in cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation, hemodialysis management, and infection control practices.
