Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU Float

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a PCU Float position to provide high-quality care to a diverse patient population, including adults and geriatric patients. This role requires flexibility in scheduling and the ability to float to various units within the hospital, including Medical-Surgical (MS), MS/Tele, and Progressive Care Unit (PCU).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in PCU and float to other units as required.
  • Utilize the Epic system for patient management and documentation.
  • Perform nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to protocols.
  • Monitor patient conditions and report any changes to the healthcare team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; first-time travelers are welcome to apply.
  • Active BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications required.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to different units and patient populations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Schedule

  • Night shifts, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00).
  • Rotating weekends: every other weekend (average of 6 weekends during a 13-week contract).
  • Holiday requirements: expected to work during major holidays as defined.

Compliance and Orientation

Full compliance with all requirements is necessary to start on time. Non-compliance may result in a delay of up to 2 weeks due to the orientation schedule. There are non-billable orientation hours determined by the contract length.

Scrub Color

Navy Blue scrubs are required for this position.
