Job Summary:
Step Down Unit Nurse Practitioner in Newburgh, Indiana. This position involves providing specialized care for cardiac and recovery patients within a dedicated unit. The role requires clinical expertise in post-procedure care, cardiac monitoring, and patient management, supporting various cardiac procedures and recovery protocols.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour nights shift from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Indiana Single State Registered Nurse (RN) license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, at least 2 years of experience in step down or cardiac units, associate degree or certificate in nursing, and valid Indiana license.
- Preferred Qualifications: Cardiac procedural experience, charting experience with EPIC electronic medical record system, and proficiency in telemetry interpretation and management.
- Additional Information: Candidates must be experienced in pre/post cardiac catheterization procedures, PACU recovery, and cardiac surgery admissions. Experience with start IVs, arterial line management, and cardiac drips is required. Candidates floating to other units will need to be flexible and capable of managing multiple patient types. The unit is a teaching hospital and may involve precepting students or new hires.
- Float: Float to other cardiac, stepdown, or telemetry units may be required, with floating occurring at least once a week, primarily during night shifts.
