Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN position in Richmond, VA. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a telemetry and step-down unit. The shift is scheduled for nights, with a commitment of at least 36 hours per week, spanning from October 12, 2026, to January 11, 2027. The position requires flexibility for floating to related units and adherence to unit-specific protocols.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); experience in step-down units, cardiac drips, and BIPAP/CPAP/high flow oxygen therapy; background in sepsis management and post-cardiac catheterization care; valid nursing license in the state of Virginia; at least 1 year of nursing experience in a similar setting.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with high-acuity patients, familiarity with electronic scheduling tools, strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to other step-down and med-surg units as needed.
- Additional Information: The unit is equipped with advanced monitoring and infusion equipment, features a collaborative team with nurses ranging from seasoned professionals to new graduates eager to learn, and has maintained a 0% turnover rate over the past two years. There is a strong emphasis on accountability, teamwork, and utilizing new technology to enhance patient care. Staff are expected to participate in mandatory shift huddles and bedside report processes.
