Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Step Down Unit at a healthcare facility in Asheville. The position involves providing high-quality patient care in a 23-bed step down unit and a 16-bed medical-surgical unit. The role requires clinical expertise, flexibility, and adherence to unit policies, supporting patient recovery and safety.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: 2 years of nursing experience with certifications in ACLS and BLS; experience working with trachs is mandatory; preferred candidates will have prior experience with Cerner electronic medical records.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience with Cerner EMR and familiarity with procedures such as trach care, chest tubes, and wound dressing changes.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The unit cares for stable vented patients and trach patients requiring high-level clinical skill. Flexibility and high competence are essential, along with a professional attitude and adherence to unit guidelines. The position is for a contractor replacement scheduled from 10/19/2026 through 01/18/2027.
