Job Summary:
Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) Nurse in Asheville, North Carolina. This role involves providing specialized care to a primary patient population undergoing cardiovascular surgery, vascular surgery, and overflow medical cardiology cases. The position supports ongoing patient management in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment within a 40-bed cardiac stepdown unit.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, from 09/21/2026 to 12/21/2026
  • Required Qualifications: North Carolina nursing license, ACLS certification, BLS certification, stepdown experience, telemetry experience, 1 year of clinical experience in cardiac or vascular surgery, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, team player attitude, flexible personality
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with cardiovascular surgery patients (including open heart surgery, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass), CVICU experience
  • Additional Information: The unit primarily manages patients post-cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, with responsibilities including epidural management, chest tube management, administering IV medications, and cardiac G.T.T. management. Candidate must be flexible, enjoy teamwork, and able to handle a dynamic environment. The role involves working scheduled weekends, with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts over a 6-week schedule, and no call responsibilities. Dress code is navy or white scrubs.
